Flash intro is dead, get over it!

Flash Intros are dead

Recently (this year 2010) I had a small web design company asking me if I still do web design freelance work. I told them I was still doing freelancing since I am unemployed and still looking for a full time job. They ask me if I do flash intros and I said sure. Then the company asked me for a quote on my cost for a 30 seconds flash intro.

I wrote them a quote for about $850 dollars for a 30 seconds flash intro. They asked why it cost so much and how long does it take me to do a flash intro. I simply told them I did a flash intro for them many years ago and it took me over 30 hours to complete. I even had to drive downtown Toronto for a full day to get it right. For me, the $850 dollars was reasonable for a flash intro base on my past working experience with the company.

I used to word for a company and they charged their customers $800 per flash intro. These intros took us 4 hours to complete, not because we were fast, it was because they don’t want us to spend all day working on it. The Flash intros I did was very simple, fading text and images, nothing crazy. At the end of the day no websites need a Flash intro. They were a trend back 10 years ago, today it have no purpose.

Not that I am complaining, it is great if people still want flash intros because I get pay for working on it. If anyone still want a flash intro or a flash website, just let me know.
